Adana style KISIR- TABOULI Recipe
Adana-style KISIR-Tabouli Recipe
1 large onion
Half a bunch of parsley, dill, green onions
3 medium size tomatoes
2 garlic cloves
3 medium cucumbers (for garnish)
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 teaspoon ground cumin
3 cup burghul (cup is a cup you would drink water with but a small one)
1 cup vegetable oil
1.5 tablespoon red pepper paste
Sour pomegranate syrup, lemon, salt
First put your bulghur in a pot or a wide tray, whicever you prefer. Soak the burghul with boiling water until you see the water on top of the bulghur. Then cover the bulghur with a cover, if you used the pot with the lid, until bulghur soaks up all the water, make sure you taste it to see if it is soft enough if not you can add a bit more water and cover it again. Put the vegetable oil in a pan with very small diced onion and cook until you get that pinkish gold color. Once the bulghur is very soft you add the red pepper paste, garlic and the spices and knead it together. Then you add the tiny chopped tomatoes, chopped greens. Last but not least, you add the goldened onion with oil, lemon, salt and the sour pomegranate syrup. You are all done, however you can add pickles, lettuce, tomatoes and cucumbers to the plate as a garnish on the side. This is a fantastic, delicious quick recipe. Enjoy your meal :)
